Experienced Eyes - Pre-Purchase Inspection - Fort Worth TX

We performed an inspection in Fort Worth Texas on a 2006 Ford F350 King Ranch. Looking over the truck, it appeared to be in excellent condition. The paint was in great shape on the outside with the expected small blemishes we made note of. The interior was very clean and looked like it had been well taken care of. Actually we were quite impressed with the interior. It's not every inspection you see one that is so remarkably clean.

Shortly in to the inspection, we noticed body work on the left front fender. After careful examination, we noted that this beautiful truck had been in a front end collision. Despite the accident, the repair work done to the truck was excellent. They mostly put new parts on the truck including the logo that they forgot to take the protective plastic off of. We continued with the inspection and noticed the rear had also been in a collision. The repair job on the rear off the truck didn't look professional. A "shade tree" quick fix at best. Where the cab and bed meet had not even been fixed correctly. It was simply bent back as close to the original form as it could have been. See the picture at the bottom of the article,

On a side note, the rear tires were almost 2/32". Once tire tread gets below 2/32 of an inch, your car's ability to grip the road in adverse conditions is greatly reduced. Check out our article on The Penny Test. This is a great way for the average person to be able to known when tires need replacement.

After careful examination of the windshield we noted 3 rock chips. Rock chips can be very hard to spot sometimes, especially if they are at the top of the windshield or a lower corner. The chips we noted here were behind the rear view mirror. A windshield in a F350 is going to be an expensive fix. The size of the chips we found on this truck we noted them as chips. Chips can be repaired by a local glass company for much less than the cost of replacing a new windshield. We have an article on rock chip repair.
